Frustrated in Diary

I had a lovely weekend just gone which I keep meaning to write about but I just want to vent for now. I have my annual appraisal at work today and I'm bricking it. Not because I've done anything wrong but because there's so much I want to talk about but I don't know how much I can say.
I've already filled in my form where we list what we want to talk about. I mentioned how Amy is always out of the office without letting me know in advance and I'm left to pick up all the admin in her absence without any support from the other admin ladies.
I wanted to mention in my meeting how Amy seems to hate me. A few months ago she suddenly started acting all weird with me. She stopped talking to me and, if I talk to her now, she sighs, rolls her eyes, snaps at me or completely ignores me. She stomps around and sighs all the time. At first I thought she was just stressed so I've been offering to do things but she just snaps "No, it's fine!" and stomps around and sighs about it. She is the only other person in the office. If there were a few of us, I wouldn't care, but she's creating a horrible atmosphere.
But, yesterday I overheard Amy tell someone that she's typing up all the appraisals. So that means she's going to see everything that's been said in mine, even though it's supposed to be a private forum. I don't even know if she's already seen the form I've filled in so far. How am I supposed to air my grievances to my boss when the person I have the grievances with is the very same person who's going to be typing it up?
So now I have no idea what I'm going to say. My boss will obviously want to talk about what I've already written, but I'm scared to elaborate any further.
I have three hours to wind myself up about it. I simply cannot wait to be out of here for good. I've figured I should be out by the end of August at the latest.
I shall update later once I've done it!

Why should you leave when it's Amy who's making it unpleasant? Definitely tell the boss you're worried that Amy will see your comments when typing them up and point out that you are thinking of leaving as a result of the "toxic work environment" she is creating... use those exact words, they are HR's nightmare.

Oh I want to leave anyway. Admin isn't really me and I'm setting up my own dog walking and pet sitting business. I'm only staying here for as long as it takes me to save up enough to set up and keep me going for six months while I build up the business.

Having said that, I had my own Amy-Boss when I was setting up the business and it gave me the push I needed to get it set up. Although my big boss was fabulous and yanked me out from under the Emerald B*tch and created a brand new part-time job just for me - yay!
Float the idea of being part time if you want to go self-employed, it was a lifesaver for me.

I don't think part time would work. As I'm the one doing most of the admin anyway and struggling to keep up with the work, there wouldn't be anyone at all doing it if I was part time. I would rather just leave, I'm sick of the whole company anyway, not just Amy.

You should just say every last thing that you want to say. It would be irresponsible of them to get Amy to type up yours but if she does and starts acting even weirder at you then you can raise a formal grievance against her, and against the firm for their irresponsible actions in letting her type up your appraisal. Surely that should be an HR job anyway? Whose typing up Amy's?
Bomb Shell Lucretia ⋅ April 03, 2014
Yeah, Amy's started doing a lot of HR stuff for no reason at all. I wasn't informed of this, I only heard on the grapevine even though I sit six feet away from her. She's always off doing job interviews or sitting in disciplinary meeting and such things. Which is why I'm often on my own with no prior warning.
I'm assuming Amy will be typing up her own as they're all going on one giant spreadsheet.

Oh how weird! The sooner you're gone the better, but if you're planning on leaving treat this as a chance to hold to power: tell them everything and force them to follow it up. If they don't you can walk and file for constructive dismissal (or they fire you and you claim for unfair dismissal instead). Your job should never make you miserable. Fight the power!

That is a bunch of crap! I wonder how many other people have said things about her as well. I am so sorry you have to go through that!!! I really hope it goes well. You should be able to tell someone if there is someone making work uncomfortable for you.
Now lets hear about your weekend!! :p

Probably no-one because I'm the only one who shares an office with her, lol. All our other offices are in different places throughout the country, but we're all supposed to be doing the same job.
I've written about my weekend now ;o)

Hope things go ok. Pretty shitty situation, though. Good luck.
