So… Wednesday I was in agonizing pain… but all I did was stay home and rest. Thursday, I had a temperature of 103 all day. Friday, I had a temperature of 103.8. Today, my temperature was 100.4. High fever days involved hallucinations and no appetite. Today? Mostly sweating and EXCRUCIATING throat pain rendering me almost entirely mute. All of this should be understandable and forgivable.

But it seems Martha’s tolerance for being sick… and Martha’s tolerance for not being supremely taken care of while sick… is far less than I anticipated. I still have a fever, I am weak, and I can’t speak or sleep due to the throat pain. And yet… Martha has been almost non-stop whining. And not like, “I’m not feeling good, wah” but more like… spoiled seven year old complaining about a modicum of discomfort. It um… it is excessively upsetting. Especially as I am still, in all quantifiable ways, more ill than she.

So… my body pain, my sore throat, my continuing fever… and all of it of less importance than the fact that Martha is tired and has a headache.

I mean… clearly good reason for us to separate!
