Mom's 50th Birthday Party in My this and that

Today I am thankful that the big party I had planned for mom this past Saturday went so well. Everyone who attended made sure to come and tell me what a great job I did. I needed that. I'm so thankful for everyone being so encouraging. It makes sense that mom would have lots of encouraging friends, since she herself is so encouraging.

Mom seemed to enjoy it, aside from the fact that she had to come back from the warm weather in Florida for it. I think she could have used a couple more weeks there... and more than once people had suggested I cancel it... but those suggestions came after I'd sent out invites! So I chose not to cancel and to just go on with my original plan. shrugs too late to evaluate it now.

A couple of my good friends helped me with set up, and let me bounce ideas off of them, and were very supportive the whole time. And Ben was a huge help on the day-of as well! Praise God!

But it is SO hard to feed 65 people! I mean, it's not hard to feed them, but it's hard to predict how much food you'll need.

Thankfully, because we didn't open up some of the food, we were able to return it! So yesterday I got $50.00 back from returned food which is very nice. And in the meantime I gave away cupcakes as party favours since we had so many left over, and I gave away big zip lock bags full of cut up veggies to my friend Anna who helped me, and to my mom. And Ben and I are burning through left over crackers and veggies and dips. YUM!

Sunday I took a four hour nap, I was so tired! But then I had a hard time falling asleep at night. Of course.

Tonight I have no plans. Going to do some nail-care for myself, a bit of clean up around the house; and then spend my evening relaxing in a bath. SO EXCITED! Then early to bed for me!
