Today I am thankful for such a fantastic weekend. I am also very thankful for the blessing one of the pastors gave us this morning; hot chocolate and donuts! I don't eat donuts, and I really shouldn't drink the hot chocolate... but I spoiled myself a little today. It was delicious, very sweet! And I was already so hungry for my snack! Who would have thought two pancakes wasn't enough for breakfast. And I thought it would be excessive to eat three. I'll know better for tomorrow.

On Friday night we decided to head to my parents. It was quite wonderful actually. Ben's brother and his wife came over for a visit with little Kaeli. She is getting so big, and I'm becoming more comfortable around her.
Saturday we had planned to be home early because I had plans, but the plans got cancelled so we spent the whole day relaxing out at my parent's place. I got a bit of exercise hauling wood up to the house, but mostly I read all day. Got a whole book done! Took a bubble bath in their tub that has jets. Ate some of their food. What a fantastic weekend.

We came home Saturday evening, just as it was beginning to get dark; perfect timing. Ben and I spent the evening tidying up, and then we watched the latest Murdoch Mysteries. We are sadly now all caught up... and have to wait from week to week for each new episode. Kind of sad.

Sunday Ben went to World of Wheels and helped Teen Challenge a bit while he was there. I went to church, which was very good. It was about Toxic Relationships, and I really appreciated how Pastor Cher presented it. She didn't tell us all the stuff we should avoid in other people; she took a real "plank in your own eye" approach. It's good to analyse ourselves sometimes; and see if we are being the toxic people in other people's lives.
After church Mema (my mother in law) took me and Chris and Lisa out for lunch. It was amazing. Then Lisa helped me shop for some stuff for mom's party. It was great fun! Just as we were heading to the mall it started snowing. When we were done at the mall it was a full on snow storm, and driving home was a bit harrowing, but I made it with no problems; just took me a long time. Ben spent the evening doing homework, which was VERY good because it meant he needed the computer and kept me off of it. So I was able to let myself be productive. I had finally made it to Fabricland to get a few things (like sewing machine needles!) and got out my large pile of jeans that had holes in the thighs. That's the ONLY reason I'd ever want that "gap between the thighs" that a lot of girls try to get. I like that my thighs are supple, but when they rub together it wears out my jeans... and you just can't wear jeans with holes in the thighs, and it's not a great place to put a patch. So I found a pin I'd pinned on pinterest that seemed to have a great way to mend those holes, and I attempted it last night. I had about 7 pairs of jeans I just had never been willing to throw out. Now I have a HUGE jean wardrobe to choose from. I even was daring and made a pair of flair jeans into straight-legged. I might be bold again tonight and attempt to make a pair of flairs into skinny jeans. Maybe... we'll see.

I am SO excited about this! I'm even wearing my new straight-legged jeans at work today. Here is the website from Adventures in Dressmaking!
