As my entries of late… or of always… are rarely happy or hopeful… I wanted to put something up here to show that YES, there are still things I’m looking forward to and things that are happy moments.
In June, there is a Prosecutor’s Training at a lake resort. Going to a lake resort solo makes me feel weird. But I’m hoping that, at the very least, you kind people will have given me the advice and inspiration to at least try to figure out how I would perhaps maybe have the ability to saunter into a Resort Bar and flirt. Maybe? I’ve never really had “game” per se and I’m starting to think it is something I should attempt to develop.
However, immediately after that (like… literally leave the resort to go do this other thing) I am going to Canada with my father, my godfather, and some of their friends. There is a small lake in Ottawa that has been part of our family for generations. My great-grandfather took his son there. My grandfather took his sons there all the way THROUGH their own adulthood. My father and mother spent their honeymoon there. My father has brought his sons there. And the year before I got married, I got to enjoy the Men’s Boat Trip. Well, the camp site and boat and all the assets are going to be sold off pretty soon. Whole place is closing up. So this is likely the very last Boat Trip with this family in Canada any of us will ever have. So… there was absolutely no way I was going to miss this. It’s not just important to my dad, it is important to the whole family legacy. This place has been important to us for generations. Each generation that has a living male member should be represented on that boat.
Buuuuuuuuuuuut… that means I have to start doing math.
Because while MBFITWW hasn’t exactly said YES or NO on Japan yet… he did finally apply for his passport. So I’m taking that as a “hell yes” until I hear otherwise. Which means.......
Canada will require no fewer than 8 days away from work.
Japan will require anywhere from 10 to 12 days away from work.
My personal days revive in July of which I am given 4.
I presently have 43 hours of vacation, accruing 1.85 hours every two weeks.
I presently have over 1,000 hours of sick leave.
If my math is correct; at June, my vacation time will be at around 58 hours.
SO… let’s say I use 4 personal days for Canada. I’m then required to take 30 hours of vacation for Canada. Which would drop me down to 28 hours remaining.
Then the vacation accrued between Canada and Japan would be at around 43 hours.
So if I use 4 personal days for Japan. And use all of my vacation hours.... I would just about cover the whole thing. But for between 1 to 3 days. :/ Obviously at that point… just use sick time. But… important numbers to keep in mind!
