clarity in poetry

“things haven’t made sense in a long time” he said
“that’s okay” she replied “things never made sense”
“that’s just a veil time lifted from before your eyes”
“now you know that things don’t make any sense”
“you’ve finally learned something” she concluded
“oh” he said realizing what that really meant
“oh” he repeated after another long pause
indeed, he finally knew
