It is funny. This has been a remarkably mild winter compared to last year. The snow, the cold, the… everything. It was consistently brutal last year. This year it keeps being VERY inconsistent. Which actually proves a theory for me. Allow me this slight diversion:

We used to play a game called “create Hell”. You had to create tortures, some ironic, that would be sufficient to constitute Hell. EVERY Hell I created was filled with false promises of escape, of respite, of reprieve. People would object. Hell is the absence of hope. Hell can’t have hope built in. I would disagree. Everyone can adjust to something if it is constant. The small, ineffectual interruptions are what drive the agony.

That connects to the weather in how my chronic pain reacts. The brutal consistent cold, blowy, snow was something that eventually… I could deal with. A few days of pain, a few weeks of super bundling up… managed. But this inconsistency? My body is experiencing more pain than usual. Because the difference between Clear Day and 40 degrees and Snowy Day and 22 degrees makes a difference. Tomorrow will be… interesting. Starting at 6 p.m. today, the temperature plunges down every hour until 8 a.m. where it will reach its expected coldest at -12 degrees. With windchill, tomorrow is going to feel like -24 degrees all day. We won’t get back up to the positive degrees until late Friday/early Saturday. SO.... while everyone (even me) is loathing the oncoming super cold blast… it is important to remember we had a lot more of that last year.

My day today is going to be one last big push in scheduling the next 5 weeks. It will be a rough outline with a lot of holes to fill. But at least I’ll be prepared for the big things that I expect to come. Fingers crossed.

Have you ever played golf?:
I have never played a full 18, but I’ve done a 9 here or there. Also put put golf and frisbee golf!

Is there a lake near your house?:
Negative, however the Iowa River is right in the backyard

NCIS

Definitely more of a cocktail fan; but I’m up for Michelob Ultra now and again

What color is your favorite fruit?:
Yellow

How often do you update your Facebook status?:
Quite often. I try not to do like.... eight times a day, but traditionally once or twice a day

I will be going tonight to grab some veg. Last time before that was maybe Monday

Have you ever been pulled over for speeding?:
Yes. Once for going a full 30 miles per hour over the speed limit

What was the last thing you ate?:
A 220 calorie sandwich at Subway

Do you feel bad when you throw food out?:
Yes. I don’t do so often, though, because if I buy fresh it is specifically for a recipe I am trying

What do you think about the new Apple Watch?:
I kind of reject all things Apple

Have you ever been on a log flume ride?:
A few of them

Are you religious? What do you believe in?:
Kind of. I’m mostly academically religious and don’t practice my faith much but I am looking to change that a bit

What’s your favorite thing about the weekend?:
Being free of obligations to a faceless mass of humans demanding whatever their mood and uneducated false sense of right happens to be that day.

How often do you go to the drive-thru?:
As there are only 2 drive through available places in the county, I’d say not often.

Do you know anyone who’s lived through a natural disaster?:
Yeah. From earthquakes to tornadoes to hurricanes to floods and even a tidal wave!

How do you feel right now?:
Rather blah. Like… I don’t need/want or expect anything to happen… but I also would kind of love someone to wrap a blanket around me, kiss me on the cheek, and offer to shag me later tonight.

What does your favorite perfume/cologne smell like?:

Not to my knowledge, but I allow the possibility that I am forgetting something

Absolutely. I’d like to do so again, too. I think it would be a great way to do something fun and potentially healthy since you can make a lot of “health” decisions when making your own

I prefer Burger King but the nearest one is an hour away.

I used to be in Honor Choir before my voice changed. Now whenever I sing, my brother just says I’m punishing the hearing community

Yes. Definitely. Many Anime and many tv shows

What did you have for dinner tonight (or last night)?:
Last night was Raviloli Skillet Meal thing.

Rhinoplasty definitely because I need one for medical reasons. Other than that? It would be nice to see if I could reshape my face/skull to back what it was in 2008

Blue.

I do. Not great at it. In poker, as in life, I rarely fold when I should

Who is your favorite superhero?:
It would surprise people, but I don’t think I have a favorite. Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, John Constantine all come to mind quickly. But that’s just because of the press and my collection. I could write entire articles about how or why one may be better than the other depending on story, message, villain, etc. Let’s just say… I’m a fan of Superheroes. (Of all genders!)
