Out of nowhere my youngest, Alex, said “God makes houses.”
I told her “No baby, people makes houses”
In her inquisitive little 3 year old way she asked “How could they build the houses so big?”
I explained to her that they were taught how and with the right plans and the right tools people can build houses and even really
tall buildings.
And ain’t that just a metaphor for what I’m going through right now. Except for first I have to tear down the house I built for so long. It’s condemned. Unlivable. And then I can start finding a new plan. And getting new tools to help me build up a new building in the old one’s place.
Part of that is going to counseling. My first appointment is Friday. I’m actually excited. Usually my anxiety makes me more nervous about this kind of thing. But this conversation needs to be had. And healing is just around the corner. I can feel it.
