Start of my tarot journey in tarot journey

So, I read an entry of one of my readers recently (during the last massive catch up) in which they were mostly annoyed with the generalization of fortune telling. I get it. I understand. It’s the view of the receiver. I really want to learn tarot. I’ve always wanted to. It is not a tool for fortune telling but a way to learn to be more aware. Anything outside that is fun and games. The moment you “have your cards read” with the purpose of a “looking into the future” you change it. Tarot is a way to look at your reflection, to see parts of you that can not be seen in a mirror. That being said I’m going to start my journey to know this deck TODAY. I’d love to get a more simple deck but I just spent a week or so not doing that.... the internet at my fingers I’m sure I could have found a simple (Raider-Waite) deck for like 10-15. So I’ll learn the one I have.

It is a Faery Wicca deck. It is drenched in Irish roots and the four suits are earth (dohman-traditionally pentacles), air (aer-traditionally swords), fire (tine-wands) and water (unice-cups).

The set came with it’s own little book as most sets do and there are 83 cards- five of which are unique to this set. Each morning I’m going to shuffle the deck and pull a card. I’m going to read and type the meaning from the book into a book here. Feel free to skip those entries if you like, my feelings will not be hurt. I’m going to think on it and how it applies to my life.... internally … then carry that with me through the day keeping a eye peeled externally occurrences. To me the tarot is a tool of awareness and meditation nothing more aside from entertainment.

I have put the deck in order and shuffled. I shuffle “casino style”, some overhand, and at least one cut of 3.... turning one pile 180 degrees. This is how I will shuffle each morning. I will also remove the card that I have used. Eventually, I’m sure it will seem like I’m getting a ton of bad stuff or that I don’t understand how something applies. Also, the 5 cards are the tree of life and 4 gift of the faery cards I’m sure will make no sense .... we will see.... giving it a go…

I really want to stick to this guys. It’s pretty high on things I want out of life...... to understand tarot enough that I could read for people.... again entertainment but reflection..... here we go.... I’ve already shuffled and pulled before I wrote this but I haven’t read.... I’m going to start a book now and reflect.
