Weeks and Weeks in Thirty-Five

Its been many moons since I last wrote. I just haven’t had access (well comfortable enough access) to a computer. Right now, Ralph lives on top of my computer desk lol. So I need to find another table or something to put him on so I can move my desk to the laundry room and have a computer setup again.

Anyway, so what has been going on? To tell you the truth, not a whole lot. We have been staying home because we don’t have the means to do anything. Since we lost the car back in like September, it’s been harder to go out and do things because the truck takes so much gas.

After all was said and done with the wedding, FIL and SMIL said they were actually happy for us but that FIL needed time to get over some things. Alright, feel free. Still haven’t heard from MIL. We only need one more signature on the marriage license and then we can file it and be done with that that way we can get started on my name change.

I’m not sure when we’ll be going to NM to do that but it will be here in the next couple of weeks. Thanksgiving was kind of a disaster. We had planned on driving to NM to spend with my dad. We had originally planned on going to Taos for Thanksgiving but we were all dealing with colds and of course money issues.

So we were going to go to my dads. Then my aunt decided like 3 days beforehand that she wanted to give us a “honeymoon” and take us to Dallas and San Antonio for Thanksgiving. It would have been a LONG trip over only a few days, and we didn’t have anyone to watch the dogs, soooo we just were going to stay home.

Then we finally said fuck it and decided to head to my dads because we were definitely not invited to the in-laws. Wednesday we got up and got everything ready, left the house and stopped to put gas, and the radiator had blown a hole. So we spent the next 4ish hours trying to get home. It was cold that day so that helped keep everything fairly cool, we put 2 gallons of water in it and just kind of eased home.

My dad ended up leaving his house around 5pm and got here around 9. My aunt had given him one of those already cooked turkeys so we threw that in the oven for a couple hours, made mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes (that weren’t sweet at all bleh) and a ham. So it worked out anyway. We had a nice thanksgiving just the three of us. Oh yeah we made a broccoli cheddar rice casserole as well.

I don’t quite remember what else we did that weekend. Nothing much I don’t think. Hmmm....

We got some new rats. I don’t even know if I mentioned Winston and Nigel. We got them quite a while ago. Beginning of November. The lady we got them from was allergic to them so we brought them home. Ralph has been on the decline for a while now but he is still kicking. We tried to put the three of them together since Racer died a few months ago, but Ralph bit the ever living shit out of Winston and made him bleed everywhere omg. It was like a murder scene. So Ralphers lives by himself. He’s doing good.

We also got 4 double rex (nearly naked) babies from the same lady. The were 7 weeks old when we got them, so they’re about 10 weeks old now. They are getting HUGE. Two boys and two girls. The boys were no problem introducing them. The babies actually escaped their tiny little cage and I found them in with the big boys lol.

The girls were a different story. Took a good two weeks or so to get them completely integrated and the little ones play hard so Coconut and Scotch weren’t used to that. However, only surface scratches happened (which nakey rats are more succeptible to anyway) so it looked kinda bad there for a little bit. They all got along fine eventually though. First time Coconut and Scotch accepted other rats.

We unfortunately lost Coconut yesterday. She was the epitome of a glorified lab rat. She was 2 and I found her unresponsive in her cage yesterday around noon. She was gone by 1. I’m just glad that we got the other two integrated with Scotch before Coconut died. I’m not sure if she would have accepted them on her own. So the new babies are Bandit and Hemi, Eleanor and Harriett. They are allll so freaking adorable.

You can see pics on my facebook if you’re on there obviously or if not either on my instagram @sephers or the dog’s instagram @tucson_sheagles.

My birthday was good. Randy bought me a camo blue ps4 controller which was awesome. We went to Red Robin and i got my birthday burger.

Since then we’ve just been kind of hanging out. I started my new medication for my RA. They switched me from Xeljanz to Actemra. I have to go once a month to get an hour long infusion. Dr. wanted to do it that way to make sure it was going in all the way. So I have those scheduled through the end of March. Hoping it helps. They said I won’t know until like 4 doses at the least. So, March.

Randy talked to his dad a few days before christmas and he didn’t so much as extend an invite for christmas dinner. So my dad came out again and we ended up going over to our friend Jacquie’s house and having dinner with her and her husband which was fun as well.

I don’t think we’re gonna do anything for NYE. Jacquie is supposed to be having a Star Wars marathon, but I really don’t want to spend 22 and a half hours there. We will see what happens.

It’s been ridiculously cold and rainy these last few weeks and I just hurt all over ugh.

We got an air fryer on the way too. We had made a list for Christmas, Birthdays and Wedding gifts, but didn’t get anything off of it, so with the money we got from Randy’s aunts and the $50 we got for christmas we were able to order it. That’ll be here sometime next week. I can’t wait!!!

It does a lot of things like dehydrate so I’m excited to make some dried veggie chips. I absolutely LOVE those things and Trader Joe’s sells these broccoli ones that I cannot wait to make on my own! UGH I am excited lol.

I guess that’s it for now. I’m going to try and write more often this year. I looked back and only have like 30 some entries from this last year.

Have a Wonderful New Year everyone!!!
