After two weeks of relative leisure in Southern California, being with my sister and her family, we returned to the snow-covered Front Range Monday evening. Grandson picked us up at the airport and we took him to dinner on the way home. He had things to tell us regarding first, tentative wedding plans and news from the rest of our family’s Thanksgiving in North Dakota.
Tuesday was spent doing laundry, grocery shopping, and napping.
Wednesday night was the Big Party. Our senior club always celebrates the Holidays with a dinner/dance. Bob and I arrange to use the Event Center here on our campus. It is beautifully decorated and we are allowed to reserve it for private events at no cost as one of the perks of living here. Great place to have a special “do”! The caterer was late, but the food was fantastic when she got there… and we had more time to spend chatting and toasting. The music was provided by the guy we have hired each year since 2008. A one-man band who does great music for dancing and listening. We had the place cleaned up to spec and were home by 9:30.... Big night for us.
Yesterday was my regular bridge luncheon. Got pretty good cards for the most part.
Big nap when I got home, and a movie on Prime later.
Today I need to finish up putting everything away from the trip and at least start thinking about dragging out Christmas decorations.
Tomorrow night is our couples bridge monthly game. The host couple for this month live way across town. We will carpool with another couple. It will be a late night.
We are invited to a soiree with a group of our friends Sunday evening. Always a good time when we get together with this bunch!
Monday: Weekly bridge foursome.
Tuesday: Christmas brunch with a bunch of women at Pinehurst Country Club.
And then, Oh, look! The calendar is blank for the whole rest of that week.
