Our state got a grant to help with our immense backlog of untested DNA Kits. So the State paid a French-Canadian Internet Company to build a website to track DNA kits throughout the state.
I am now sitting through a training on how to use a website! I mean… I get it. We’ve got prosecutors in this state that still don’t use computers so we need to go Retirement Community Intro To Typing. But instead of a 3 hour step by step meeting on How To Use A Website… do a 1 hour presentation, 1 hour hands on demonstration, then call it a day. We’re busy attorneys. If I was still private practice do you KNOW how much 3 hours of my time would cost?!

Why did you move from private practice to working for the state? Isn't it usually reverse? Haha.

Typically; but that is because there is a lot more money in Private Practice. More control over your work, too. I went to law school, though, intending to be a Criminal Prosecutor because I didn't care so much about the money but about trying to be compassionate to victims and defendants while still holding people accountable for their actions. Not easy; especially in a world that seems more obsessed with refusing accountability and responsibility; but important.

I couldn't agree more, I have the hardest time with people who lack accountability and responsibility, hence why I only have like 4 friends and don't have a good relationship with many of my family members, lol. That is very noble and admirable of you!
