Yesterday I was in Truro, the weather was sunny and dry, and dare I say – warm! Spring has arrived a little early perhaps making up for spring not arriving until May last year, yesterday’s weather was a rather hazy as well as pleasant, when I retuned home the hazy along the coast had become foggy, safe enough for careful driving but banishing the other side of the valley from sight.
By nighttime when I was out with Ziggy it felt like a scene from the ‘Twilight Zone’ a little part of reality lost in mist! When I took the dogs out before bedtime there were stars, the moon and across the valley the new houses with the out side lights illuminated. This morning we are back in the Twilight Zone, this time a few homes lost in a sunless illuminated mist. Strange how those scenes remain with me from childhood, I enjoyed both ‘The Twilight Zone’ and ‘The Outer Limits’ and never had nightmares.
When we have mist or fog here in the valley, we do seem to be cut of as we can’t see far and sound is diminished, back in our Stockport years there were foggy days, but they were quiet days not silent, and people and cars appeared out of the fog and vanished again; both fodder for the mystery or science fiction writer.
