What day is it? in A small but passable life.

I found the latest two episodes of Grey's Anatomy on megashare.info last night. I'm still waiting on season four of The Game of Thrones.

It was 64 degrees in the van last night at midnight. It was 51 degrees this morning at 11am when I finally got out of bed. But before I got out of bed I laid there for a bit trying to remember what day of the week it was. I couldn't do it. Honestly. I had no daily markers to remember, a guidepost, if you will.

Anyway, we got nothing last night but a sprinkle of rain. And a hard North wind, that continued all day.

I got up and got dressed and walked to the store for a can of chili and a quart of milk. I packed up my grocery tote and headed over to the student union. They had all the chairs piled on one side of the room. They had cleaned the carpet. I walked over to the university library.

I ended up being the only one in there all afternoon. People walked through and one gal sat and ate a sandwich, but that was all the traffic there was. I got a good start on the book. I quit for the day in Chapter Three: Perils of Desire. Yep, she's talking sex now. Old people sex. Yep, it does exist. Here we go . . .

At dusk when I got back to the van it was 68 degrees. So there was no need after all to go anywhere today, but I did. And it was worth it just to get away from bologna sandwiches for a day. And for the two mugs of My Monster Mocha. Always nice.

And then I went over to Hardee's. The wifi was acting up again. There was an assistant manager there I'd never seen before. I told him how to fix it but he was scared to mess with anything. In our discussion he mentioned, off topic, that the employee turnover rate at Hardee's is now at 173%. All I know is I'm missing my favorite Hardee's gals. Those hugs from Sara are surely missed!

So I'm once again sitting at Burger King. It's not bad with the headphones on, to drown out the inane employee and a certain customer's chatter.

Tomorrow should be a good day to spend in the van. I've got the book, I've got a new random selection loaded onto my iPod, and I've got a bit of minor housekeeping to do. It should be a good THURSDAY.

I'm thinking about telling Jassy to come and get the van. She's had ongoing problems with the Volvo. All the van needs is the battery charged, a new driver's side window, an oil change, and insurance. It's good to go after that. I was going to wait until they moved to the city so I could unload all the crap into their new apartment, but they can just add it to the crap I've already unloaded on them.

I've got the packing list mostly complete for my pack. I'm still debating between the wool blanket or one of the fleece blankets. Ruggedness and warmth vs. weight. (It's now too warm for the goosedown sleeping bag. And one of the summer bags would be too bulky.) Tough choice. That and the poncho is all I'm keeping for shelter. I've still got all those plastic drop cloths Jassy brought me for the busted window. I could use those to waterproof a wigwam out in the woods somewhere. Yeah, that's the ticket. A plastic sheeted wigwam!

I've been boondocking in the city for a solid three years now so I'm pretty sure if I jettison everything I've not EVER used in that time I should be alright. And what I should be left with should fit in my pack. We'll see.

Anyway, I've got to scour the 'net for a ¾ box springs and bed. (Don't ask.)
