The younger Nephew Jo asked me if i could teach him to knit. My sister gave side eye. He wont do that. I said what about a knitting board. Like the nifty knitter looms. She said why bother. Its a waste of money.
I walked into the thrift store, found a 40 dollar knitting board for 2 bucks. Brought it home. While she kept saying i cant believe you bought that. He wont use it.

Guess who has been sitting with me for 3 hours now knitting on the knitting board. Every minute or two i wrap the row for him because he cant wrap and knit. And he has a few inches of a scarf he can wear working up.

It infuriates me that she kept saying crap about him not doing it. Sure he may put it down and get bored. But i spent 2 dollars on it and he feels included and is enjoying using it. Hes watching tron with everyone else and working on his scarf....

Its little things that make children feel loved and listened to. Little things that make them feel like someone cares. Blowing it off because you cant be bothered to spend 2 dollars on your child. 2 dollars. Its crap… This made him happy… And its a little thing. Its a huge knitting board. So there is space for all the kids to work on their own scarf on the board too. We have two started so far, each 10 stitches wide. One for Jo and one for my 10 yo Ch.

Well im going back to my knitting now. Im wrapping his rows and working on a newborn romper for… no one lol.
