3 Life Sentences in Simple Man

Well at least Robert didn't get the death penalty so I can start pushing to get the Innocence Project to help have his sentences reduced so that he may someday see freedom again. I doubt that'll ever happen, but I must remain positive at least for him.
I'm not saying what he did was right. It wasn't, but he didn't kill anyone so for the state of Virginia to sentence a person to life when they were not responsible for the person's death is shitty. In commonwealth states the laws are so different than what they are here in my part of the country.
I used to be one of those people that believed in our justice system, but after what happened to Leonard Peltier, the The West Memphis Three, and many people I know personally including my own problems with the law where it forms into shades of gray I am repulsed by how broken our judicial system is, and has been for many decades.
In this lifetime I will most likely never have my man at home. It's reduced to a relationship consisting of mail, phone calls, and possible visits. The visits will only happen if I get back east someday. I don't even know if that will happen. He's in my heart, and always will be, but he'll never be back in my arms. That hurts big time.

There are four Native men here serving life for a murder to which another convict in another state has confessed. Many problems exist with the case, including an identification made from 200 yards away (two football fields' length) at night, the jury discussing the case outside of court, and so on. Thus far, their case has not moved forward.
