Finally, coolness! in A small but passable life.

I woke up this morning and looked at the atomic clock. 62.4 degrees in here. I haven’t felt that in maybe ten months or so. I even turned the A/C over to “Heat” after getting up. At least until it warmed up to 73 degrees in here.

The last day of the month. Laundry day. One load. Top and bottom bed sheets, pillow case, two washcloths, one handkerchief, one pair gym shorts, one T-shirt, my favorite shirt, and the “summer” cargo shorts, and one pair of boxers. I swapped out the summer cargo shorts for the winter cargo shorts. Six months for each. I pulled my lounge pants out of the carry-on in anticipation of cool mornings and evenings.

Mom bounced a check. It’s been a couple of years since she’s done that. Thousands in savings and signed up for “overdraft protection” and the bank still nabbed her for $12.50. I went to the bank anyway. You know, just to call out their dumbassness. Cute young gal behind the desk was totally impervious to my little rant. She said, “Well, without the overdraft protection it would have been $35.” Whatever. Okay, you win.

The new car is being annoying, again. There were two dummy lights glowing and the little icon on the little screen is acting like something catastrophic is happening to the two starboard side tires. I finally find some FREE air (after stopping at three different places) and put TWO PSI into each of the two tires. Now we’re copacetic.

I still haven’t managed to don the boots and go for a hike. It seems easier to lie by the pool.
