I've been transcribing my monster-sized main diary which I rescued from Open Diary before it died, taking all diaries remaining on the site with it. It's a job, as there are 1680+ entries to move off the flash drive. The way I do it, in case anyone is curious:
->Open the "Create new entry" screen here at Prosebox
->Insert the drive into the front of the computer, the computer detects it and opens the necessary software to address the drive
->Click on the file folder logo at the bottom of the screen, this opens the directory of the drive
->Click on the correct file (if you saved two copies, one each in .txt and .xml formats, use .txt) and the notepad window will open with the contents of that file shown
->In the notepad, wipe-and-save the text using CTRL-C
->In the "Create new entry" screen, dump the text in the "Content*" box using CTRL-V
->Assign it to a Book, give it a Title, and click the Save button.
IMPORTANT: first off, your diary will no longer have separate entries, although there will be dividers and the original dates will still be listed. As a result, all diary entries will have the same level of privacy. If you had private entries before that you want to remain private, you may wish to save the entry as a draft: click the "Save as draft (hidden)" BEFORE you click the main Save button.
If by chance you save your entry to the wrong book, fortunately there's a fix that isn't at all cumbersome: Click on the Edit button (at bottom of entry text), go up to the Book line, and click on the arrow to its right. A drop-down list will open, showing all of you available books. Click on the correct book, and presto-change-o, the system re-files the entry in the correct book.
So there you have it.
