healing doesn’t invalidate your trauma
your healing validates the fact
that you somehow survived

don’t feel guilty that you made it to now
you made it to now
that’s goddamned amazing
invalidate entropy for just a little while instead
by moving forward in your life for a little while
you can’t beat it forever but
you’re beating it now
that’s goddamned amazing

don’t feel guilty about getting better
you aren’t abandoning the people you lost
by wallowing in the depths of pain less
you’re celebrating their memory
in all of your future endeavors
you are not carrying the past down
the past is what’s carrying you forward
that’s goddamned amazing
you’re getting better
they would be proud

healing doesn’t mean
you’re forgetting
healing just means
you’re carrying onward
in a little better health
that’s what they’d want
they know you’re amazing
they want you to know
you’re amazing
they want you to be
amazing
you are amazing
