That last little blast of Winter seems to be over. Thursday, Friday and Saturday were pretty mild days. Mild enough to swap out my goosedown coat for my windbreaker and to go for a shave, shampoo and wash-up over at the university library on Thursday.

I woke up Sunday to falling snow. Sunday and Monday nights were down into the single digits.

Sunday night Hardee's was closed at 9:30pm when I walked over from the student union. Instead of going anywhere else I just went to bed.

I finished "Townie" by Andre Dubus III Monday night. It was a memoir. And since the author is my age I really connected with all the cultural markers in the narration; the music and TV references, the drugs popular at the time and just the general atmosphere of growing up in the 60's and 70's. When I'd left the student union I had just a few pages left so I just went to Hardee's and finished it.

Yesterday Angela found me at the student union. She sat and we talked for a bit. She was upset with that terrorist attack in the Hunming railway station in her home province. Before she left she gave me some groceries she had bought just to try but didn't end up liking; two packages of oatmeal mix, a jar of salsa and a package of tortillas.

Last night Jassy showed up online and we chatted for a bit. Always nice.

Today I walked to the library and turned in the last book and perused the shelves and found a non-fiction and a novel to check out. It was warm enough to wear my windbreaker. A nice walk.

It was warm enough to spend the rest of the afternoon in the van reading. At dusk I walked to the grocery store and then over to the student union.

And of course, tonight the wifi here at Hardee's is doing its non-working thing again.

(I'll go ask the new gals if they know how to reset the router.)

Friday:

The wifi wasn't working again last night so I just sat and read the book. And this morning I finished- "From Gutenburg to Zuckerberg" by John Naughton. I really enjoyed the book. It was a good overview of where we've come from and where we may be headed.

Today I spent another day in the van reading. I started the novel. At dusk I walked to the grocery store to stock up on sandwich fixings because I probably won't be going over to the university until spring break is over.

And of course, the wifi still isn't working over at Hardee's so I'm stuck over here at Burger King. Life is what it is. At least the TV isn't tuned to Faux News.
