Pardon - is that a big O ? in blackpropaganda

I think my hearing is getting worse - of course I have always had selective hearing when it came to SW..- but I am missing things on tv and radio - especially at certain frequencies.

So I saw the doctor yesterday to check whether I have wax in my ear which is affecting my hearing - and I have - so I am booked in with a nurse next week to clear it - but it needs softening first - and so the ear drops are going in twice a day - and when they are going in I become almost totally deaf. After they have been absorbed I have muffled hearing - and so when anyone starts speaking I miss the first part of what they say - and often more - so my favourite phrase at the moment is 'Pardon?'

If this does not work I shall get an assessment by an audiologist - actually, nowadays, opticians offer that service too. It is interesting how many people these days have some kind of hearing aid -I guess before many people just accepted they were deaf, and just missed a lot of things or nodded sagely - I can do that too.

All my other parts seem to be working OK.
