These are movies I've watched on youtube between midnight and 5 am (when I don't have download limits):
Not As A Stranger - Robert Mitchum, Frank Sinatra and Lee Morrow in medical school together.
On the Beach - Ava Gardner, Gregory Peck, Fred Astaire and Anthony Perkins in Australia waiting for the world to end - based on novel by Neville Shute.
Warm Springs - Kenneth Branaugh as FDR and Cynthia Nixon as Eleanor
Beckett - Richard Burton as Beckett and Peter O'Toole as Henry II.
Soft Targets - 1992 BBC movie with Helen Mirren and Ian Holm (my new crush). He a beautifully dressed Russian in London and she just a girl.
Caesar and Claretta - a 1975 BBC movie about the last twelve or so hours of Mussolini's life - and that of his mistress. More entertaining than it sounds. Helen Mirren again and Il Duce was played by Robert Hardy who was Sigfreid in All Creatures Great and Small. Note the underwear.
Marriage of Eva Braun - 1979 Werner Fassbinder movie. Hana Schygulla stars as a German woman who marries a soldier in 1943. She is told that he is dead, works as a hostess in a GI club for black soldiers, falls in love, gets pregnant Husband is not dead, he comes home, there is a fight, GI is killed, Eva's husband goes to jail. Eva has an abortion or has the baby and it dies, you choose On train home she meets a wealthy factory owner who falls in love with her and hires her She gets rich, maintains her love for her husband and the factory owner. Husband gets out of jail and goes to Canada. Factory owner dies, husband comes back, and then there is a surprise ending. Note the clothes.
Veronica Voss - 1982 Werner Fassbinder film about a has been movie actress and the news reporter who is interested in her. It put me in mind of Sunset Boulevard. So I watched:
Sunset Boulevard - famous 1950 Billy Wilder movie with Gloria Swanson and William Holden. The original washed up movie star and reporter - though I guess he's a screen writer - movie.
The Human Stain - 2003 movie based on fabulous Philip Roth novel. Movie has Anthony Hopkins and Nicole Kidman and it's very good. I love the story. Of a light skinned black man pretending to be Jewish, becoming a college professor who loses his job for racial insensitivity. He uses the term 'spooks' when referring to absent students. Kidman is this odd romance that takes both their lives.
Electroglide in Blue - 1973 movie directed by James Guerico. Robert Blake, cute as a kitten, is an Arizona motorcylce cop. Wonderful photography.
And a few more that I don't remember. When I remember or when I watch more I'll come back and add them to the list.
