It’s not about anything other than me being mexican.
So A few days ago, Randy got a call from his step-mom, Connie. He was talking about stuff and then was like “oh you wanted to see if WE wanted to go with you?” And I knew it was the California trip that they do every year. I’m getting money for a job I did and Randy sold his transmission, so we would have actually had the money.
But then Randy jumped up and said “hold on…” and continued the conversation in the bedroom. I knew something was up. So he came back into the living room after the conversation and he was in tears. I knew what it was about. He just sat down and was kind of bawling for a minute and I just let him. Then he said “I don’t understand how there is ALWAYS one parent that doesn’t like my girlfriend”.
So I asked him what was up, even though I knew. And he confirmed it. His dad invited HIM to go to california. Only him. I was already prepared for this. So I told him, look, go with your family. For one, this is your family’s thing and I know everyone was upset that my dad went a few years ago. And two, I don’t want to be accused of trying to keep you from your family. Because I know that’s next.
It’s not anyone in that family but his dad that has the problem. He has a problem with me because I spoke my mind and he has a problem with my dad for ABSOLUTELY no fucking reason. Oh well, I’ll just let them do their family things and I will do my own thing. I’m just sick and tired of them putting him in the middle of shit like this. And it all starts with his mother.
I told Randy that this whole situation is something that needs to be addressed with his mother first, and then his dad. Because SHE is the one that started it all.
Anyway, so we’ll see what happens this week. I’m so tired of having being hispanic thrown in my face like it’s a bad thing.
