we gotta let go of the past but
it can’t be for anyone else’s sake
we can’t make that choice for them
we have let go of the past for
our own continuing health
our very own self-care
to hold ourselves together
that we might do more good
some day when we’re feeling better
no more and certainly no less
and move forward with as much
strength and wonder as we can muster
my shrink call it “radical acceptance”
that’s the name of the name, buster
you gotta watch out for yourself
if you wanna be able to help
radical acceptance
