Through Eyes of Glass in Poetry

Memories fade
Into an awakening dream
Staring at life
Through a television screen
Re-living the past
Through eyes of glass
And the mirror reflects
Only what you see

My eyes are closed
Evaporating through this dark hole
Traveling through the unknown
Everything is lost
My light becomes dim
There’s nothing within
For I know what was
Has always been

The echo is faint
Can you relate
To what I sedate
Disappearing inside my skin
To live passions
That breathe within
The ecstasy is great
But is it all worth
This prescribed fate

This was another story told
With words vanishing
Along snow-white trails
The footprints are forsaken
Another life mistaken
With years of memories
On a journey with the wind
Then, it’s all forgotten
As if I never lived
