And that was February, this morning was mild and the light a bit mixed, a continuing of resent mornings that have felled of change; less wintery but an air of spring coming. February went out with a last wintery flourish, it felt quite rough on our patio, and more so on the steps; those sudden gusts had us reaching for the handrail.
We went down into Perranporth for some shopping, we parked on the seafront car park facing the sea, the storm was blowing in from the sea; the mini has quite wide doors and I didn’t want any repair bills! As it was dry we got the shopping dun, on our return we could see the effect of the wind on the Perrancoombe stream as it approached the beach, the stream has been quite full even now the rain has been less after the passing of the worst winter storms; gravity was pulling the water down from the coombe and the gusting wind was pushing it back!
We decided not to walk on the beach, as there wasn’t much beach to walk on with out boots! I went as far as the sea wall with my small camera, feet apart one forward but my stance didn’t hold me stead, so I compensated by taking the same view several times, at least this storm looked brighter than those that coursed the country so much hart-ache.
A rough and tumble day, the un-photoshoped truth!
Saturday, March first was quite a good day, I was able to take Ziggy out without a jacket, of course Ziggy wore his usual fur …. The rain appeared at dusk and kept on and off though the night, it was acuminating enough to ease of when I went out with the dogs at midnight, in fact there was a large hole offering a grand view of stars and a bright Jupiter!
Sunday morning and the weather doesn’t look helpful for to days agility class, Jo must be afraid each time she watches the weather reports, the storms seem to be over but the on and off rain is enough to top up the water level; it must be much the same for farmers looking to spring sowing.
