The war drums bang in Voices Windward

Catching up with the news some ...

So remember the Russian friendly government involved in a ruck with the Nationalists in the streets of Kiev? Seems Russia has voted to send in troops to the Crimea and said government ,the Ukrainians by the way , ain't so happy.

The Russia want to protect their assets and people (60% of the Crimean population) and maintain their strategic foot hold there, The Ukrainians don't care for a foreign military on their soil, but you know Crimea is autonomous anyways ...

But say Russia does go in, bash some heads and promote their glory and what not, What happens? Maybe Ukraine will declare war? Maybe Nato will send troops, the UN maybe? ... Well they didn't when they walked into Georgia and the ain't while the Chechen suffer, so what make it different?

Curiously the Crimean war is often sited at the first modern war, also having the first war photograph (this one) and having the first edited war photograph, When they moved cannon balls onto the road to make it look much worse than it was...

So it's threats of a world war again, the drums beat, the media pours it's drivel, people wait with distance compassion, waiting for it all to blow up and in a few months they will remember it all like they remember the world war because of Syria or the one caused by the middle east or the dang Chinese, or when the North Koreans tested their missiles... (all still carrying on btw)

War ain't good for business, just the permanent threat of it.

Thoughts with the people of the Crimea, or Ukraine and Krasnodar ... The coming weeks will no doubt be hard on you all.
