Day one in Tales from the Spinning Siren

I did good! No really i did more today then i did the previous year! Granted i priced my wools a bit higher and tomorrow im going to bring the prices down for a sale. But yeah im excited to go back.
The director was so sweet. She kept checking on me and giving me hugs because she knows whats going on in my life. But yeah i did good. Im hoping tomorrow i do well. Almost all the dyed yarns i did for the show this week sold! Two of my angora skeins including my beautiful broken black ( black and white) spun on silver thread. Ill have to do another one. I sold another skein of angora to a younger gal who couldent afford the price but kept coming back. So i gave her a discount. Its a bit of an older kind chunkier skein. She was happy to do that. And i was grateful for some income.
I know that seeing a 70-80 dollar price tag on a skein of wool is alot. Someone made a comment, Most people didnt. But its not just the wool. The wool is normally 12 an oz. Plus 15 cents a yard spun, per ply. so in an average skein, the wool alone costs 45 dollars. Plus the yardage so say the skein comes to 150 yards. The ply for ONE ply is 22. So if you want to add in things like the cost of thread 7 a spindle and i need two. The total cost to make income should be 104, and ive got them for 70. Thats a LOW estimate for the angora wool price. My fellow friends are pricing them starting at 110. So i dont feel too bad. But yes it IS expensive.

But here is what you are paying for. My beloved angoras. Their feed. their grooming, their care, their shearing, my time spinning, The blood from them scratching me up. The love. The breeding. This is what is paid into something handmade. This is what we take into account. Now i love what i do, so yes i do price it lower.

My wools ranged from 28-40. And i made several hundred dollars. I did ok! What would be epic? To break over 1K. That would be fracking Amazing! my family needs this. universe, we need another day like today!! We need a BETTER one!

Im feeling good, Im feeling like this is good, this will be great. I kinda wish i had some fibers prepared for people to buy, but thats ok too.
After im finished, im going to start listing stuff to sell online. I dont really want to pay etsy fees, so im going to try to figure something else out.
ok time to get off, the kid is in the shower, and im getting in next. He helped me today and we are both tired AF! lol.
