Short Entry in Still Listening to Spirit

I have not been here regularly. I had February energy drain. Sunny days after a boatload of snow. Beautiful Northern Lights lately, though the most exciting forecast turned into a dud by the time it became dark enough to see them. Norway, Finland and those countries dark when the CME hit were favored with the best show. I still poke my head out each night during commercials to look to the sky.

I have finished the crocheted towels and have only to attach buttons, tag the towels with the matching oven mitt or potholder, and they are ready to go.

Traci called me on her birthday, Feb 24, as she was driving to Wichita. She is better about the business situation. Turns out all the traveling they did was very detrimental to their own store in Wichita. The female they hired to handle things while they went ot to grow the business was not doing her job.

Traci let her go because of budget. Once she was gone, companies they do business with felt free to tell Traci what a f**ckup she was and how they hated dealing with her. Even the mall security guard stopped by, after the girl was gone, to tell Traci that it appeared to him she never did a thing and there were customers wandering around the store while she just sat there, doing nothing to encourage questions or a sale.

Traci says she wished everyone would have spoken up earlier. With no sales since November, they are in a world of hurt at their store. She has not given up, and sounded very upbeat.

It was good to hear from her, yes indeed.

Bill has sciatica or a pinched nerve somewhere in his back that causes pain down his right leg through his buttock. This plus he stepped up on a pile of snow/ice to lean over the trailer side to reach some firewood--the snow collapsed and we are pretty sure he bruised/fractured/broke a couple of ribs.

I have told him we need one of those hang-ups, so he can hang upside down and get his back some relief. He keeps saying "No more exercise equipment"...sigh. There are several people in town, including a friend's husband and the police chief who are getting remarkable relief from using this. I will eventually get it done and get him on one. It's just a matter of money.

Once again the last 2 weeks were financially challenging. We can see the end of this and are hopeful that when Bill's social security kicks in the 2nd week of March, we will be in much better shape. Unemployment has run out and there are no extended benefits this year, thank you Congressmen and Senators.

I am done for now. Wichita State is playing Missouri on ESPN and as I have always been a he fan, I will be watching to see if they complete their season unbeaten. What a treat. THEN Kansas is playing this evening also on ESPN, another basketball treat! Rock Chalk Jayhawks and Go Shockers!

How about getting your daughter to buy you underwear at JCPennys or Ross. You can get three pair of pants for three bucks at Ross. Have her send them to you and add in a couple of sports bras. You will be set that way. You are in Margot's position clothes wise. Business casual plus sweaters and coats. Hope you have a good thrift shop in town. Hugs.

Not fun to be around a fellow in pain. I wish I was there because I am pretty sure I would enjoy the heck out of what Northern Lights you are seeing and I could give you some simple exercises to help with the discomfort, if he would be willing to do them. :)

But then it is plenty cold enough for me right now.

Fingers crossed that your daughter has some sales and things get way better now that they have identified the problem.

Go you on finishing the towels!
