Today i made my first rose petal infusion.
I used domestic roses from my rose bush. They happened to be my beautiful bright orange sunset roses that i ADORE. The smell is amazing!
I put 1 cup of live petals in 1 cup of sunflower seed oil and set to the sun. The oil is like most, nearly clear. Within a few hours of sun, the oil is nearly orange like the petals. Im really hoping the beautiful fresh rose scent will infuse into the oils.
This oil is purely for the scent and will be added to my hand creame. Im working on a lanolin and shea butter mixture for my hands after i do some handspinning, many fibers are rough on my hands, so this oil i hope will be wonderfully scented and helpful!
Rose essential oil is said to be an anti inflammatory and antiseptic. Both of which would be good for my bad wrists!
Plus the scent is beautiful. Fingers crossed.
Tomorrow i plan to harvest the wild sitka roses! Their scent is slightly different.
