Honestly, pay no attention to the title. Just threw up words with silly spelling. It is rare for me to not have a title AND not have a reason for a title.

My life is surrounded by construction right now.
The Courthouse has active construction.
My Office has active construction.
And that damned construction by my home. THAT is SUCH a pain in the ass. Cul-de-sac is a great street structure for a quiet neighborhood. It is a NIGHTMARE street structure when it exits out into miles of construction work.

Long sigh. We’re experiencing the exact reason why I wanted Wife to get her shit figured out earlier when it comes to Hawaii. We have an idea of when would work best. Home Owner thinks it will work; Home Occupier things it will work… but we don’t have confirmation. And I’m not going to ask my parents to set the flight schedules without confirmation. Sure… we could move our trip to September or October… no, we can’t because the place is booked from August to November. SO… we need confirmation… and with our dates currently 40 days away, sooner would be better than later. Now, there are no certainties that this wouldn’t have still been a problem. But waiting one or two months before actually figuring out what her summer schedule would be did make setting all of this up just that much more stressful. Then again… I’ve never gone on vacation before as an adult and certainly never set up a vacation. Anything I’ve done has been wedding or reunion or funeral or bachelor party… something that was specific, targeted, and mostly organized and planned by others. So… maybe trying to set up a vacation is always stressful and I just never knew before. Or it may be because of the situation. Probably that. Because if it was something like, “Pick a date, fly to Vegas, get a hotel, do whatever” that would be one thing. But this is going through family… using a family house. So, there are more sensitivities and the like. This is why I’m a big fan of professional interactions. I’m a guy that likes to know exactly what everyone is expected to do. For that reason, honestly, the Prosecutor’s Conference in June may actually be more of a vacation for me than Hawaii. lol.

I woke up this morning in excruciating pain. Not really a surprise of course but I’m not happy that my mornings have returned to being so aggressively ouchie. I don’t enjoy waking up as it is, to wake up and instantly be in agonizing pain doesn’t help matters. I took a very long, very hot shower to relieve the pain. It meant I would be late to work, but that’s a forgone conclusion anyway what with the construction work. Got to work… not much going on. Construction in my office. All my hearings were finished on paper. I may have some important things coming up in that first week in June but things should be pretty calm until then. Reviewing June, other than Juvenile Cases, it looks like I only have 2 actual trials to worry about. And the first one of those shouldn’t even happen… or at least I don’t expect it to.

In other news, the world is still burning. The populist fascists in America and the UK seem to understand that they may be losing steam but that just makes them more pissed off and more combative. Meanwhile, all the experts are saying that I pretty much have a Political Type. In 2016, the candidate I supported was Marco Rubio. In 2020, I support Kamala Harris. And people are comparing the two a lot. Typically as “3rd string candidates trying to appeal to a broad audience”. And that right there is what kills my heart about this world right now. Appealing to a broad audience should be how a democracy works. Being able to say things like “I don’t support assault rifles in our schools but I also don’t think we should move towards banning all firearms” should be how you win that discussion politically. That is no longer the case. You want to win the Republican Nomination? I believe our teachers should be issued concealed carry permits, firearms, and undergo training in CQC and Firearm Accuracy! You want to win the Democrat Nomination? I believe that as long as guns are available, we’re all in danger! We’re no longer trying to select what best represents The Population of the United States… we’re just trying to select which extremist is the least crazy. How did that system work in 2016, friends?
I think our system is broken. I don’t think it will ever be repaired. And that makes me very sad for our country and our world.

That’s… kind of where I am right now.

Plans for the next little while? Tonight: Drop my car off at the shop. Go to the store. Workout. Friday: Go home. Welcome MBFITWW. Go to Fareway for meat shopping. Spend the rest of the weekend watching Anime and figuring out my propane grill.
