Price Gouging Thin Mints in QUOTIDIEN

Because fixing the job situation is not something politicians seem to be interested in doing, let's spend our time, instead, on the ingenuity (which is exactly what Conservatives believe we should rely upon to survive rather than say, paying a living wage) of those Girl Scouts in Colorado. It might actually be more accurate to credit the parents for this stroke of income-generating genious!

It isn't like these girls set up outside the Pot Shop, out on their own, with no guidance or protection from those evil pot-smokers who, incidentally frequent other known Girl Scout territory like WalMart pharmacy entrances, or local Pizza Shops.

While politicians and reporters take to the airwaves, all fearful-like about how young girls are taking advantage (rather than becoming victim to) the drug culture to make a buck...for GIRL SCOUTS OF AMERICA, corporations are taking advantage of us all.

Let's look at this fabricated 'propane' crisis that doesn't really exist - at least not as far as states like Florida are concerned, where propane sells for a meager $3.78 per gallon whereas Missouri can't even be guaranteed the new, low-low price of $6.50. "You'll know how much when we deliver" has been the stock response.

Then answer is as plain as the pitted probosci of those who are no doubt co-signing this bull-shit: STOP EXPORTING during our winter months if there is a shortage - or hire enough people to investigate and bring to financial judgement anyone guilty of gouging. Now THAT'S job creation right there!

But you see - if the specter of need isn't raised and bandied about, however else will we convince the increasingly reluctant masses of our ever-so-desperate need to frack this country to hell?!

Oh hey...why don't we try this: AFFORDABLE, RENEWABLE ENERGY!

Yes - we must protect our children from the evils of this world, but I ask you: If we insist that corporations are people (as determined by our government), and our children begin emulate corporations by taking advantage of flesh-and-blood people (who can say no to a Thin Mint when they're stoned), then why is anyone shocked?!

Meanwhile, let's not say a word about brick-and-mortar, steel-and-glass 'people taking advantage of, not only the people, but the very planet our 'saved' children will need to actually live on!
