Hey everyone,

If you’ve been on the front page in the past hour, you’ve probably noticed the crazy number of Korean spam posts. I’ve cleaned them out for now, but I’m confident they’ll be back.

I’m currently working up a long-term solution, but until that happens I’ll be cleaning them up manually, so there may be a bit of a delay. Hoping to solve it in the next few days.

Thanks for your patience!

Update 5/7: I’ve temporarily closed new user registration until I can put a permanent fix in place. ETA is looking like Thursday. Whew.

Update 5/10: Signups are once again open, now with a shiny new captcha! Looks like this has stopped them in their tracks for now, but we’ll see… Mochi remains ever-vigilant.

Update 5/14: AAAAAND THEY’RE BACK. :-|

Update 5/15: Signups have been closed again for the time being. We’ve determined that the spammers aren’t bots, but rather are a spam farm using actual humans. This defeats any captcha we throw at them, and likely email verification as well. The future is annoying. Exploring other options.
