Here is a picture of me and my sisters all standing in a line. You can see in the picture that my sister Cathy is wearing blue stockings. She is the slow poke of the family. The rest of the girls wore their Sunday best.
Can you imagine six girls all getting ready for church at the same time. It was quite traumatic to say the least. I would always hide in one of the many closets. My mom would get quite frustrated with me because I didn't like to go to church. Too much sitting, standing, knelling, singing and praying.
Sometimes my father was on one of his benders so he would have to go to confession booth. My mother would always threaten him about calling Uncle Victor, my dad's brother. He is priest.
The only good thing about church is that after church you get to go to the gymnasium to buy a Jelly filled donut for 25 cents and free juice

My kids like Sunday school because we went to my parents after and they got sticky buns.

That photo brings back so many memories! I can only imagine the chaos of getting six girls ready for church!

What a great picture! I really can't imagine getting that many young girls ready for church. We had 3 girls in my family and it seems one of us was always rushing out the door while the rest of the family waited in the car. We were fortunate in that on some Sundays, we went out for brunch after church. Other Sundays we would come home and my Dad would sit back on the couch with the Sunday paper and my mom would start fixing the big meal of the day, which we always ate early on Sundays. Thanks for helping to bring back some good memories!
