Ghosts of an exes past,to poor for life in Misadventures of West Virginia Woman

My friends Rodney and Sonnet were an item over 5 years. Rodney a transplant patient had unbelievable medical bills. During last 2 years of Rodney and Sonnet relationship Rodney was at the lawyers trying to arrange it of they get married Sonnet will not be responsible for Rodney’s medical bills. He bought a $13,000 engagement ring for him to find out she was cheating on him. Rodney went into Kays Jewelers and gave it to the first engaged couple who walked through the door. He decided if he can’t use it doesnt mean someone else cant.

Rodney came to me asked if i knew about Sonnets infidelity. Everyone knew of her partial nude pictures on instagram her affairs with men and women. She even had an affair with a man from Florida she met online. Rodney had no idea she came to my house tried to be the sister wife to me and Talan’s relationship. I kicked Sonnet out. She tried to kiss on me she tried to get romantic and i told her sorry i am not into girls. I tried to take Sonnet shopping out to dinner and hang out after she push for something more intimate than platonic i decided to move out of the house we rented from Rodney when she tried to hit on Talan. I quickly arranged to move away. Sonnet asked once again can she be my side girlfriend trying move into my house. Her feelings were hurt when i told her i am monogamous not polyamory. I was afraid if i told Rodney of her advances he would leave us homeless or murder us.

Here it is over 2 years later. He said they broke because he found out Sonnet wanted Rodney and her female friend Teagan to be in a relationship together. Rodney told her she had 1 year to collect money to leave. They are still friends but until recently he had no idea how far she really went into it until her computer hacker friend investigated.

Rodney fell in love with an ex from a previous relationship. He tried to kindle this relationship to discover lets call her Brittany has damage due to her ex husband infidelity. Rodney even loves her kids Rodney has never been fond of children they are his exception! Rodney was debating on sniping her ex to discover God stopped him he put the gun away.. The next day he was baptized. Rodney heart belongs to God for the first time i see him at peace. He has lost 60 pounds. His health considering he is a transplant patient has improved phenomenally. He is still in love with Brittany but says as long as they can be friends he is happy. :) He said he hope someday they can be an item. Until then he plans to be an active role model to Brittanys daughters.

Church has been good to Rodney. He is healthier, happier, he isnt scary Rodney i once knew. We talked in his car until dawn about his previous relationship with Sonnet and how the church really has created peace in his life. I didnt feel uncomfortable sitting there because Rodney has always respected women it is a shame Sonnet couldnt stick around to see his turn around. I honestly believe her leaving is what inspired him to learn to live again.

I talked to Rodney about after dad died i debated suicide. Instead i talked to the crisis hotline. I told Rodney how much i miss my dad. How i love my mom so much and i fear eventually she too will die. I told him i am sole proptieter of her estate and i fear when the time comes i will be unable to take care of her bills and everything. Rodney has already been through this with his Aunt and can relate.

I talked openly with Rodney about my problems till early this morning. I came home for Talan to be worried. Talan pointed out bills we need to pay and no money to pay it. I sighed with irritation wishing he never accidentally overdrafted. Our tax money will probably go to paying bills instead much needed repairs. Our broke heatpump, dishwasher, clothes dryer, tub we need to replace and collapsed underpinning will have to wait.

Adulthood is tricky and irritating. Never have i stayed so defeated for so long. I keep fighting to make it better but God knows that will be a long time down the road.
