Victorious Detachment in Everyday Ramblings

There is a rumor circulating around these parts that it may in fact stop raining for a few days. I am not complaining mind you, we need it, the droplets make the deep purple of the crocus shine in the weak overcast light but a break would be nice. Just a break is what I ask for so I can get my sodden patio tidied up and take a few more pictures of spring beginning to unfold in all the usual places.

It seems every February I end up taking a sick day. Today was mine. One would have thought after the enforced at-home-ness from our big storm, five days really and then a quiet wet weekend that I wouldn’t really need a day off, a break in the action.

But I did.

There appears to be some virus making the rounds that just makes one feel exhausted and cruddy. That would be me this last week.

That is what autocorrect said when I pinged Kes earlier with the results of my eye exam. Hours later, after having been dilated my eyes are still a bit wonky. The good news, and it is very good news indeed, my retinas are fine, no tears, no detachment. I am experiencing age related Posterior Vitreous Detachment and there is not a darn thing I can do about it except thank the stars and the gods that I am alive to in fact experience this phenomena.

Because, apparently, if we live long enough we all experience this in some form or another. Who knew?

I need to go back in three weeks and have my eyes dilated again and rechecked but for now I am good.
