Last night it was 54 degrees in the van at midnight. I pulled the goosedown sleeping bag off the bed and crawled into my summer sleeping bag. A very good nights sleep. I believe the wounds left from all the scab picking are healing. Somewhat.
It was 45 degrees in the van when I finally crawled out of bed about 11am. I got up and ate a bowl of cereal and opened the book.
I finished the book about 4pm- "Dirty Love" by Andre Dubus III. A very entertaining collection of four novellas. I did order two of his earlier books and a Chris Hedges book online last night. Now I just have to wait on the email telling me they have arrived for pick-up. They are all on the shelf at other libraries so they should arrive soon.
After I put the book down I loaded up my knapsack and headed over to the university library for a shave, shampoo, and wash-up. I then went over to the student union and fixed a mug of My Monster Mocha and sat and read the local paper.
After that I packed up and headed over here to Hardee's. The wifi is still working fine.
Someone sent a note last night about an Amber Alert for a ten year girl who was snatched. There was an update in the paper. They had a 'suspect' in custody.
I get over here to Hardee's and one of the women (never have got her name) who works here came over to talk. She had the latest news. Apparently the girl's body was found in the 'suspects' house. And the guy was a soccer coach for the school system here. He's had the job since 1998. And this woman's daughter had had this guy for her coach in the past and she and her daughter knew the girl and the girl's mother. You could tell she was pretty shaken up. And she asked me twice- "What do I tell my daughter?" I had no answer. A fucked up deal all the way around.

Anyway, it looks like the warm(er) weather will last for a couple more days. Thunderstorms are predicted for tonight and tomorrow morning. I believe the Saran wrap on the busted window will hold up. Still. I'll just have to check it from time to time for leaks if there is any wind coming with the rain. It should be fine.
I have no idea what to do tomorrow. I'll probably dig the kindle out and continue with Walt Whitman.
