Even though I thought last week was going to be quiet, it ended up not being such. We made it to church Sunday. Late service. We usually go to the 8:00 service, but have got out of the habit of getting up and ready. In fact we haven’t even been since Bob’s surgery in January. Oh, that’s not totally true. I went by myself one Sunday while he was in rehab.
Monday was my regular bridge day with lunch out. Wednesday was a scheduled outing with our senior club. Another luncheon. Thursday I subbed with a larger bridge group with yet another lunch.
Last night we went to a dinner party with friends to celebrate the coming 75th birthday of a dear lady who hangs out with us (ahem) old people. The couple who hosted the party find a reason three or four times a year to heap hospitality upon us. They have a beautiful home. They serve wonderful and interesting food. They have interesting guests. We love going there. I feel guilty, though, because I don’t have space to reciprocate. If I entertain it has to be a very small gathering–six to eight at the very most, or big enough to reserve the complex Event Center… Need about 40 people to make that worthwhile. Sometimes I miss our big house and big yard.
This week’s calendar looks much more open…only a couple entries. At least there are no doctor appointments written down....
