“A band you fell in love with because of someone else’s recommendation.”

I have a few for this one! I love, love, love suggestions. I would have never known about Marina and the Diamonds or Florence + the Machine if it wasn’t for my partner, or Laibach or Combichrist or Mindless Self Indulgence, for that matter. I even took a suggestion from Facebook’s sponsored messages years ago that lead me to Empire of the Sun, which I fell in love with because Aquarians are fucking weird like that.

So here are a few of my favorite recommendations from different people.

My friend and former co-worker from Texas, Janita, got me into her favorite band, which was Opeth.

My partner has gotten me into a metric shit tonne, so I’m wracking my brain to decide.... Think I will have to go with Unleash the Archers. Best female fronted power metal I’ve heard, fkin love Brittney Slayes.

The older of my cousins has occasionally dropped a gem on my doorstep… He’ll tell you he discovered Therion for me, but don’t listen to him. He REMINDED me of Therion after I’d given them a long break, lmao. This is probably my favorite band that he did completely introduce me to.

A long time ago, my online friend and another fellow Texan, Kriss, threw this band at me, and I’m glad she did. To be fair, I remember the exact song she sent me was Torches Arise.
