I finished reading “America: The Farewell Tour” by Chris Hedges.

More than a week since I’ve last scribbled in here. It may be a reflection of the semi-chosen lifestyle. There is not that much going on around here. I sit in this chair and read. I lay by the pool and listen to NPR. I lie in my bed from midnight to eight in the morning, in the darkened silence, sometimes sleeping and sometimes dreaming. I drive mom wherever she needs or wants to go. I make the coffee in the morning. I try to cook at least one good meal a day. I socialize for two hours a week, Tuesday evenings, at the Rummikub table. I have really nice conversations with Daughter as often as she’ll tolerate me. Life could be worse.
