We are supposed to find out today when Bob can come home. PT told us yesterday that he is ready to be discharged with a few sessions with home health. She just needed to get it set up with the Care Manager, who, of course, was not working Sunday. She is thinking probably Wednesday, if not Tuesday! We are so ready emotionally to get him home. He still has some swelling in his hands and feet but the congestion in his lungs seems to be all but cleared up. His blood sugar is running a bit high, but I think that will get better at home. The incision is doing fine and there is no more confusion.
Mike is back from his business trip to Canada so he will be able to help me get him home and settled.
I am really tired of driving over to the rehab center and sitting around for hours. I planned to skip going today and playing bridge with my Monday lunch group, but I do want to hear what the Care Manager has to say… Bob told me to go play bridge. He would call me after the meeting. Yes, I think he can handle it! Besides, I’m about out of gas. (I am so spoiled! I don’t know how to gas up the car!) Mike said he’d take care of it.
Today is the day my darling grandson heads off to the other side of the world! He is our youngest grand and the one we spent the most time with when he was little. Now he’s 21 and going off to New Zealand to further his education.... Yesterday he brought Papa and me valentines (and a little heart-shaped box of Kisses for me–Papa is going to be on a really strict diet!) I’m sure going to miss that boy!!!
