I found a national dog walking and pet sitting website that's looking for employees so I sent them an email offering my services. I think being employed by a national company might offer more security than being self employed and even if they can only offer part time hours, I can fill the rest for myself. My dad suggested I also offer services like pet photography which is a great idea. I can also be trained for micro chipping and fill any spare time (if I have any) with things like mystery shopping. So I have a lot of options; I hope this company can offer me something!

The carpet people eventually arrived on Friday at 4pm. So much for coming in the morning! I love the carpet, it's really thick and warm. The difference in temperature in the room is very definitely tangible. So we can finally be cosy and warm in our living room and hopefully reduce our gas bills. Happy. Jay's mam told us it doesn't go with the wallpaper and we need to decorate. We know that, but we only have so much money and are doing the important things first. She then huffed and said we'd done it all backwards. Pardon? Why is new wallpaper more expensive than insulation; keeping warm and bringing our energy bills down? Meh.
We have a big storage box full of lotions and potions, toiletries and smellies that I've received as gifts over the years and never got around to using. Well last night I emptied the box to try and de-clutter the cupboard under the stairs, and also to make sure I use it! The shower room is now bulging with five tubs of body scrub, four bottles of shower gel, five big bars of soap, six tubs of body butter and four bottles of moisturiser. Not to mention other things like hand cream, face cream, face masks, bath salts etc. It's going to take me a while to get through it but I'm not going to buy myself anything new until I've made a sizeable dent in that lot!
Jay's booked us a table in a restaurant to go for a Valentine's meal on Friday. He won't tell me where it is but I asked him how far we had to walk so I can decide which shoes to wear. He said it's five minutes from Snow Hill station and we've been there before. The only place I can think of is Purnell's; a very expensive Michelin Star restaurant where he took me for my 30th birthday. We don't normally go somewhere that posh for Valentine's, I wonder if he has something special planned, hmmm hmmm? not holding my breath
