99 years? in A small but passable life.

Just when I've got the wheels greased and not squeaking I hit a fucking pothole. Yep, the student union will be closed from 5pm Friday until 4pm Monday. But . . . it just may be warm enough to lounge in the van for those few days. Maybe.
I finished reading "Parasite" by Mira Grant. The last two days I've been back with Walt Whitman on the kindle.
Tonight should be the last cold(er) night, down in the teens. Maybe I'll be able to get out of the sleeping bag before 1 or 2pm.
There was an astonishing obituary in the local paper. The man died just before his 99th birthday. There was a list of his ordinary working man's jobs and the fact that he left children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. One interesting fact was that he once had the Barrow (before Clyde hooked up with Bonnie) brothers for neighbors. And he stayed active up to the end, dancing at the dancehall with his girlfriend.
What would it be like to have to live that long? How would one fill the years? I just can't imagine another forty-four years.
I wonder how long this beard would be after another forty-four years?
I need to walk to the library and peruse the shelves for something to read. I also should go through my notebook and find the "to read" list and order a few books. A couple more Chris Hedges and maybe start up with the Robert Jordan "The Wheel of Time" series again.
Here's a few quotes I thought were good enough to scribble in my notebook while reading:
"It's not that I hate cops, its just I feel a lot better when they are not around."
-Charles Bukowski
". . . violence is "often the preferred weapon of the stupid."
-David Graeber
". . . those attracted to power tend to be venal mediocrities."
-Chris Hedges
