It’s been 3 months since I updated. I have started a new entry here so many times but keep getting distracted.

—The biggest change is my in laws moved back! My father in law got a job at a local church. Thus ends the chapter of them living 4 hours away. I will not miss that drive or having to cram all 4 of us in one room when we visit. Plus it’s just nice having them around to eat dinner or just come over and see the kids. My MIL is staying at her school til the end of the school year because she’s the most dedicated teacher in the world. So they’ll be lots of back and forth for her but once that settles it’ll be even better. We didn’t start out having the best relationship and we are still not suuuuper close but I’m glad to at least have kind and considerate people for in laws. And the girls are of course happy to have them back.

—Alex is in a big girl bed! My in laws used to have a toddler bed they kept at their house for Leah and as they were moving asked if we wanted it. It’s only been a few days now. She does great at night for the most part. But naps have been a disaster. She gets 11-12 hours of sleep at night so she probably doesn’t neeeeed a nap but in her crib she would play and talk to herself and usually end up falling asleep. I’m fine if she wants to stay in her room and read books for an hour but the running around and opening the door was no good. I took anything noisy out of her room today and told her if she sleeps then we can paint after her nap (it’s her favorite activity right now) and as I write this she’s at least quiet.

—Leah is doing so much better in school! She barley gets in trouble anymore. And she’s learning soooo much. She is learning to read so much quicker than I thought she would. She has a lot of sight words and is even starting to sound things out. She loves it too so that helps. I’m so glad we ended up sending her to Kindergarten.

—I’m taking a break from my work this year. It’s been really nice and much needed. I of course still have to do laundry, dishes, clean, cook, and keep 2 kiddos alive but it’s nice to just rest inbetween those moments. I’ll be happy to get back with it though and grow my shop in 2019.

—I’m loving Christmas this year. The girls are at such fun ages. We are spending the 22nd with Nathan’s family and then going to my grandmas the 23rd and 24th. Then we decided this year to be back on the 24th evening and wake up at our own house on the 25th and spend the whole day just the 4 of us. I’m looking forward to it so much. All my shoppping has been done since the end of November basically. We got each girl 2 gifts a piece from us. Then they picked out a gift for each other. Nathan and I got each other one thing. And the girls got one thing for Nathan and one thing for me. And Leah is fully into Santa so of course the stockings will be from him :)

—Nathan has been at the same job now for over a year. There’s some inkling her could get promoted to a different job but they are sooooo slow at everything. If he doesn’t get it he said he’ll start looking for a job in the New Year. I’m divided on whether or not I want him to find a job in a new location. It’s nice being here and being close to family. But a new location would bring all new opportunities. We will just see where we go next.
