Name a fictional character or monster you would love to have as a friend. Why do you think they would be a good friend to you?

Fictional character: Of course, Captain America. He is honest, has morals, and might be a bit too rigid, but there are things the character is willing to learn. But the honesty part…that is the most important thing. Then there’s loyalty. But those BIG things…he does NOT back down. I like that. I feel like he would understand me.

Monster? I am assuming that this is in reference to ANY monster, and not one of the big four. I would have to stick with one of my own tales and say the Deer Woman.

In my tribe, a version of the story goes as follows:

“A young woman went to collect wood and came back to her home to find a man waiting for her. He forced himself upon her, but she was able to get away. Later, she found out he was to wed one of her other relatives. She found out he had been unfaithful, and her relative had killed herself out of her sorrow. When the young woman died, she vowed to protect other young women from other men who were unworthy of a companion.”

So, there have been sightings, and the only time women have seen her, is when they are with men who Deer Woman does not approve of. Women see her as beautiful, sometimes with the body of a deer and top of a woman. They don’t see her for long.

Men, however, see her very differently. She starts off as beautiful, just enough to lure them in, and when they prove to be tainted, she becomes a twisted, “dead” version, complete with the smell of a dead deer in the summer sun, and bad things follow the man.

I’d be down with her because you know what? I’m sick of hearing about how a lot of women are STILL treated like they don’t matter. Look at the shit happening NOW. Dickface was able to RAPE a woman, then his DAD said, “Don’t ruin his life for 20 minutes of fun.” WHAT THE FUCK?!

There are many Indigenous women who are missing, trafficked, and/or murdered, but they don’t pop up on the radar very often.

So yeah. Any way I can help, even if it’s to AVOID that? I’m down.
