Oh, Tetris master in Second 1st

I’m typing through the last few rounds with the oven. it’s soooo hot in here :( . I had set the beans out to soak pretty early this morning (7ish maybe) and then set to ripening the bananas in the oven. While that was “cooking” I made the Zucchini bread. It was cooking while I made the dip and cut up the veggies for the snack try. Rocky got up while I cut up the cheese. I made an Italian dressing for the pasta salad.

Then it was Dr. time.... they scheduled things back to back.... and a special surprise I guess. So not as part of the follow up with my ear but apparently my audiologist appointment was separate. Because of the doc I was about 20 mins late but they weren’t busy.

There has been change with my hearing.... for the worse… BUT after the testing we were able to talk about hearing aids and what I wanted out of mine. I don’t care if it’s internal or external but I want it to have blue tooth so I can do the phone thing and stream. I mean if I have to get a hearing aid I’m getting a damn good one. We talked about rechargeable batteries vs. replacing them. Battery life and even color. Turns out that with an Android phone I would need a relay device for streaming. Would cost $250 for that and it’s not covered by insurance. When she had gone to check on that she found out they had one in stock that had all I wanted. 3 year warranty and according to the insurance I can get a new one in 3 years.

So, the one she had in stock needed to be charged. It’s one of the “top of the line” ones so I’m pretty satisfied .... also it’s pretty comfortable and light. Didn’t come in any cool colors (like pink) so I’m happy with the grey/sliver it already is. Made an appointment to make sound adjustments and bring it home in 2 weeks! So if purchase date is now or then I’ll still be before the end of the insurance year :) so GO ME FREE HEARING AID!!!

I’ve decided I’m not getting the relay device though. Instead I’m going to upgrade my phone and go Apple. Then I won’t need the relay for streaming! AND I’ll have a new phone (new to me). Mind you I currently roll with a Galaxy Note 3. I think I’ll end up with a Iphone 7.... ish....
i’m looking at spending == or <the cost of the relay ($250).

Went to Genghis Grill for a late lunch and then stopped by Goodwill. Rocky felt so bad for accidentally breaking the wicker on one of the chairs last year he decided he wants to just store them. We stopped at a Goodwill yesterday and picked up 3 pretty random chairs.... and again today we got 4. We have 4 rolling office chairs and I have at least 11 people (including those who live here) so we should be good now without the original (100 year old) chairs. Makes me a little sad but I get where he’s coming from. By the way he’s some kinda Tetris master. He fit 4 chairs in his car.... with both of us in it!.

Got home and left him here. He was beginning to get sharp pains in his temple.... yeah 16 years of night shift and suddenly you are up while the sun is.... that might do it. I let him stay here and took my car to get the remaining things I needed.

Got back home and started the banana bread. It would take the longest with a 1 hour 15 min cook time! Made the mock apple pie.... then cut up some of those tiny tomato and cucumber for the pasta salad. I realized mom wouldn’t be able to eat that.... because the italian dressing was made with olive oil.... so I switched it out and Rocky made a second dressing. Threw that together. While figuring out “What next” I discovered the pie and the bread were at same temp! so I saved 30 mins by putting the pie in. When they were down to 20 mins I started the Snicker doodle dough. While cooking Snicker doodles I started cooking the beans. Boiled them for an hour. Now I’ll just have to dump them and the other items for baked beans in the crock pot in the morning.... about 5am.... I hope I can handle that. i should be able to.

Banana bread is almost completely cooled as are the last of the cookies. Apparently i can’t leave the cooked beans out over night (bacteria will form) so I’m going to put them in a bag and find a spot in the fridge.... Calling Tetris master RIGHT NOW . lol
