NoJoMo 10 -- The Hobbit in NoJoMo 2018

My 4th grade teacher, Mr. Hanawalt read this book aloud to us. At the end of the school day, before dismissal, if we had done all our classwork and behaved reasonably well (for 10 year olds), he would read a chapter.

Mr. Hanawalt was my favorite elementary school teacher, and his reading this to us is one of my favorite memories of 4th grade.

I’ve read it several times on my own since, but that first time hearing it was very special.
