Busy, check. Productive, Check. Fun, check.
Yep, looks like it was a good weekend. Saturday night I put together an in character party for some of my LARPing type friends. Cleaned out the flat and dressed it up like a medieval Tavern. People came over and we had a night of it. Quite a night as we didn’t get done till 2:30 AM by which time most of them were deep in their cups. I had to stay relatively sober as I was running it but I don’t mind, it was fun to see people enjoying themselves and I got a few thank yous the next day.
Sunday was the 9th and my brothers birthday. It’s hard to believe he’s 34. Then again, it’s hard to believe I’m 32. I constantly think of myself as a perpetual mid 20’s. The lie is getting more evident as time goes on. One of these days I’m going to have to grow up and pick curtains. BUT NOT TODAY!
Yeah, so it was Dans birthday and I took him out for the day. We went to Frankie and Benny’s for a late lunch and then went to see the LEGO movie. I can heartily recommend it. Without giving away spoilers it’s a fantasy adventure across many different Lego worlds with a sense of humour brought from a combinations of styles. Specifically, if you’ve ever played the LEGO computer games, the visual humour is very similar to the cut scenes from these games. The verbal humour was along the style of “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” which is understandable given how many of the same production team were involved. There’s only two songs in the movie, the annoyingly catchy “Theme Song” and what can be described best as the “Batman” song.
Yes, this movie has Batman. Also Superman. Wonder woman. Green Lantern. Unicorn Kitty. Yes, Unicorn Kitty. I’m not making this up.
Go see it, really. It’s a good fun film which manages to be wonderfully childish without being at all immature.
Anyways, having done that we came home and watched “Monsters” again which is one of Dannys favourite movies. I have to agree that it’s fantastically well done and really enjoyable but he has more of a keen for it then I do. Hey, it was his birthday, you’re not allowed to disagree with someones choice of movies on their birthday.
Today is also going quite well. I’m doing a pre-training-training course for some people and they seem to be not bored which is kind of what I look for in those modules. It’s pretty condensed stuff but hopefully will stand them in good stead.
I’ve also been told I may not be getting the company credit card for my upcoming trip. I’ve responded with the appropriate “stuff that!” because I simply cannot afford to be paying out and waiting for the money back. I’ve told the appropriate groups that if it comes down to it they’ll have to reschedule me for a different date. I’ve just taken out a loan, I’m not getting mucked around with financially at the moment.
As a side note I seem to have zero patience at the mo’. Finding things very frustrating and my usual “meh, that’s life” attitude doesn’t seem to want to come out to play. I suppose being more assertive can’t be too bad a thing in this regard but it’s led to me being brusque and, on occasionally, flat out rude to people. I don’t generally think of myself like that but my guess is just that I don’t have time to filter my brain at the mo’. Caught myself whistling at my training group for attention. Bad Adam, that’s just plain rude. Especially as I can’t wolf-whistle so it’s a sort of musical whistle. That’s right, dance to my tune little advisors Mwa hahahahahahahaha! Or alternatively I could be some sort of pied piper but I don’t think I could get away with the silly shoes.
Hang on, I’ll go back and put in a few lines to simulate the passing of time.
Sorry for the extended delay there. Lunch finished and I had to get working. Oh, wait, this is in a written format so from your perspective there was no delay at all. Hang on again, that won’t work because you won’t read about the enter lines until after the explanation. I’ll move the sentence to before the enter lines. Ok, now I’m confused. The line saying I’ll go back is before the blank lines. Oh, hang on, I’ve got the solution.

Much better. Anyways, I only came back to say bye for now. Hopefully have some new poems to post up here soon.
Missing you already.
Ramble ramble ramble.
