Donald Trump retweeted an advertisement that was debunked and little more than a racial dog whistle. It stated Democrats allowed an undocumented individual to come in from Mexico, and that this individual killed two police officers in California.

(1) The individual in question accessed the country during Bush’s term. So… unless the Alt-Right has become so Alt as to call Bush a Democrat… pound sand.
(2) It is tragic and horrible when police officers are killed. But uh… dude? Two police officers were killed by a white guy in Des Moines more recently. If we’re going to say “THE ULTIMATE EVIL the ILLEGAL ALIEN killed TWO OFFICERS!” Than… you’re… dumb.

It was racially motivated race-baiting trying to get the White Nationalists who did so much to get him elected out to the polls.

Sadly, this shouldn’t surprise us. This is par for the course. Hell, my State Senator openly supports an avowed member of White Nationalist Party for foreign government and routinely says “There is a white genocide coming. Other cultures will wipe us out and woe to the world for the end of whites. No other culture has done as much for the world and no other culture will do as much for the world.”

So yeah. Racist comments from people desperately trying to appeal to racists. Not a surprise.

But THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES’ response when a reporter asked him about it?!

FROM CNN:

President Trump deflected criticism of a controversial immigration ad that networks, including Fox News and CNN, declined to air, although he said he was unaware of the controversy surrounding the ad.

“A lot of things are offensive,” Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews when asked about the ad. “Your questions are offensive.”

The President said the reporter asking him about the controversial ad was telling him something he did not already know.

So… a guy shared an offensive ad… was surprised that it was offensive… and when called out on it basically said, “No, you’re offensive.” The man is a petulant, spoiled child who needs even more attention than I do. I never thought that would be possible to see a grown adult man more desperate for attention than me!!
