Beth, our 18 month old German Shepherd, has become a sponge. By this I mean that since the attitude adjustment I gave her following her attempt to fill up at the Kitty Krunchy Buffet, she has been exemplary in her level of obedience, and of suddenly 'getting' commands that often went ignored. She no longer challenges me at the door, waits patiently for her food and waits for my gesture before she partakes.
She hasn't visited the litter box since that day of reckoning, either. And while I thought she was a Velcro dog before, she follows me about, head close to my knee.
This morning, hubby and I took her out to throw around a frisbee for the first time. She hesitated at the door because, for the very first time, we were taking her out, unleashed. She ignored the four cats littering our patio and followed us like this was old news. She killed the .99 Frisbee before she figured out how to properly play with it, and when it was time to go in, she stepped over the lazy felines and right I to the house.
ALSO to note, in our little Animal Kingdom, Boo (the cat) who entertains a love-hate relationship with Beth, was slowly walking into my bedroom. Beth, slowly caught up with her, and was permitted to lick up and down her spine. When Beth bent her head down close to her head, Boo raised her head with that happy cat look. It was brief...whereas before, that kind of thing was non-existent.
Yay, Beth!
